Portrait of photographer with his cat

Seva Zelikoff

Shooting portraits since 2005

Portraits without pretending.

No awkward posing.
No pressure.
Just you.

I don’t like forced smiles and I don’t believe in “perfect posing”.

That’s probably why I ended up in portrait photography.

I started as a theatre photographer at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet — photographing live performances, as well as portraits of actors and directors.
Back then, everything was about timing, emotion, and capturing something real — not staged perfection.

Later, I moved into fashion and more expressive, artistic portrait work.
I’ve worked with FashionTV, photographed during Cannes Film Festival and Paris Fashion Week, and had my work published in international magazines — including being featured on Vogue Italia’s curated platform.

It sounds glamorous.
But in reality, it often meant long days in the studio, adjusting lights and chasing something that still felt honest.

At some point, I realized something simple: A good portrait has very little to do with perfect conditions.
It’s always about the person in front of the camera.

Today, I work as a business portrait photographer in Poland, but my approach is still shaped by everything that came before — theatre, fashion, and years of trying to understand what actually makes a portrait feel real.

I don’t try to turn people into something they’re not.
I’m much more interested in what’s already there.

If that sounds like your kind of approach — we’ll probably get along just fine.
